This chassis code relates to the anti lock braking system right rear wheel speed sensor and the toothed tone ring, also called the reluctor or exciter ring, mounted at the right rear hub. DTC C1144 sets when the ABS control module detects an irregular right rear wheel speed signal consistent with a missing or damaged tooth on the tone ring, producing a momentary dropout once per ring revolution.
