Code Information

The skid control ECU operates the ABS hydraulic actuator through an internal actuator relay that supplies battery power to the solenoid valves and the pump motor. DTC C1140 sets when the ECU detects that this actuator relay circuit is not behaving as commanded, either failing to close when energised, staying closed when it should open, or returning no voltage feedback at the relay output. Because the relay enables ABS, brake assist, TRAC, and VSC operation, a fault in this circuit disables those systems.
