DTC C1702 is set by the Parking Aid Module (PAM) when it detects that the right rear parking aid sensor circuit is shorted to battery voltage (Vbat). The rear parking aid system uses ultrasonic sensors mounted in the rear bumper to measure the distance to obstacles when reverse is selected, and the module continuously monitors each sensor circuit for open circuits, shorts to ground, and shorts to voltage.
