Code Information

DTC C1708 is set by the Parking Aid Module (PAM) when it detects that the right rear centre parking aid sensor circuit is shorted to battery voltage (Vbat). Rear parking aid systems with four bumper sensors use two outer and two centre ultrasonic sensors to cover the full width of the vehicle when reverse is selected, and the module monitors each sensor circuit for open circuits, shorts to ground, and shorts to voltage.
