Code Information

After a collision the airbag, or SRS, control module sends a deployment indication signal to other control modules so they can perform post crash functions such as cutting the fuel pump, unlocking the doors, switching on the hazard lamps, and disabling selected systems. The signal may be a hard wired crash output or a network message. DTC C1943 sets when the receiving module detects a fault on the airbag deployment indication input, such as an open, a short, an implausible level, or loss of the expected message from the SRS module.
