Code Information

The seat track position switch tells the airbag, or SRS, control module whether the driver seat is positioned forward or rearward on its track. Many of these switches use a resistance based scheme so the module can detect position as well as open and short faults from a single circuit. DTC C1948 sets when the SRS module measures a circuit resistance that falls outside the expected range for any valid switch position, typically caused by high resistance from corrosion, a partial short, or a switch that has drifted out of specification.
