Code Information

The accelerometer, or acceleration sensor, measures vehicle deceleration and lateral or longitudinal g forces and reports them to the control module, which uses the data for functions such as crash detection in the restraint system or stability and rollover control. DTC C1949 sets when the module detects an open circuit in the accelerometer sensor circuit, losing the signal, supply, or return path so it can no longer read valid acceleration data.
