Code Information

The master cylinder pressure sensor measures the brake hydraulic pressure the driver applies and reports it to the ABS or stability control module, which uses the value for brake assist, stability and traction intervention, and to judge how hard the driver is braking. DTC C1953 sets when the module detects an open circuit in the pressure sensor circuit, losing the signal, reference, or ground path so it cannot read brake pressure.
