C1962 is a manufacturer-specific chassis diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the C-prefix family of codes, which covers chassis, braking, steering, suspension, or stability-control faults.

When C1962 is stored, the module has detected a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit.

Code Information

The park lamp relay coil is controlled by the body or lighting control module to switch power to the parking lamps. This can hold the relay energised or present an unexpected high level on the control circuit that the module reads as a fault. When this code is set the parking lamps may stay on or operate incorrectly, and the module flags the coil circuit short to battery.
