B1343 is a manufacturer-specific body diagnostic trouble code recorded for Ford vehicles. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
When B1343 is stored, the module has detected an electrical-circuit fault in the wiring, connector, or driver associated with the named component.

The heated backlite input circuit is the wire that carries the rear defroster switch request signal from the heated backlite switch on the dash to the Body Control Module (BCM) on Ford vehicles. When the driver presses the rear defroster switch the input is pulled low, which prompts the BCM to energise the heated backlite relay or to send a network message commanding the rear glass heating element on for the timed defrost cycle.
