The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the Memory 2 Switch input circuit voltage as part of the driver memory seat and mirror system. DTC B1538 is set when the BCM detects that the Memory 2 Switch signal is held at ground potential at a time when the switch is not pressed and the input should be at its normal rest voltage, indicating a short to ground in the circuit.
