The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the panel dimmer increase input switch circuit, which the driver uses to raise the brightness of the instrument cluster and dashboard illumination. DTC B1579 sets when the BCM detects a circuit failure on the dim panel increase input line, typically a short to ground, short to voltage, or an open circuit that does not match expected switch behaviour.
