Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the lamp output circuit that supplies power to the illuminated keyless entry keypad mounted on the driver door pillar. DTC B1623 is set when the BCM detects an electrical fault in the keypad lamp output circuit that does not specifically match the open circuit or short to battery or ground criteria of related codes. This circuit energises the keypad backlighting when the courtesy lighting system is active or when the keypad is touched, allowing the driver to see the keys in low light.
