Code Information

The B1842 fault code is set by the Generic Electronic Module (GEM) or Central Timing Module (CTM) when it detects an unexpected battery voltage on the front wiper motor power circuit. The module monitors the wiper power feed and expects voltage only when it has commanded the wiper power relay closed. When voltage is present at the monitor pin while the relay is commanded open, the module logs B1842 as a short to battery condition.
