Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM, also called the Airbag Control Module or SRS module) provides and monitors a clean low impedance ground or signal return to each remote crash sensor. DTC B1903 sets when the RCM detects that the ground circuit to Crash Sensor #1 has been pulled up to or near battery voltage, which is consistent with a short to a power feed somewhere along the ground return wire. This is the opposite failure mode to a short to ground on the same circuit and almost always indicates a wiring fault where the sensor ground conductor has chafed through onto an ignition or battery ...
