When P1193 is stored, the module has detected an open (broken or disconnected) electrical path in the monitored circuit; a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit; and a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.

Code Information

The fuel pressure sensor is a piezoresistive sensor fed with a 5V reference and a sensor ground, returning a signal voltage proportional to the pressure in the fuel rail. The Engine Control Module (ECM) uses that signal to close the loop on the fuel pressure regulator or the high pressure pump metering valve and hold rail pressure at the commanded target.
