The bank 2 sensor 1 oxygen sensor is the pre catalyst sensor on the cylinder bank that does not contain cylinder number 1, and like its bank 1 counterpart it carries an internal resistive heater that raises the sensing element to roughly 350 degrees Celsius within seconds of start up so closed loop fuel control can begin without waiting for exhaust heat.
