When P1337 is stored, the module has detected a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit; a bank-specific fault, meaning it applies only to one cylinder bank of a multi-bank engine; and a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.

Code Information

The camshaft position sensor on bank 1 tells the Engine Control Module where the camshaft is in its cycle, which the module combines with the crankshaft signal to identify cylinder number 1 on its firing stroke, sequence the injectors and, on variable valve timing engines, close the loop on camshaft adjustment.
