On Chrysler vehicles, P1195 sets when the PCM determines that the upstream oxygen sensor, located before the catalytic converter on Bank 1, is responding too slowly during the catalyst efficiency monitor. A healthy upstream zirconia sensor must switch quickly between rich and lean, typically crossing its mid point several times per second once hot, so the PCM can trim fuel and grade catalyst performance.
