The EVAP canister vent control valve sets the fresh air vent for the charcoal canister on these Nissan and Infiniti vehicles, sitting open during normal purge and being commanded closed by the Engine Control Module (ECM) to seal the system for a leak test. DTC P1448 is the open side malfunction, set when the ECM detects the vent valve remaining open, or not sealing, when it has been commanded closed.
