Code Information

On Nissan vehicles the canister control vacuum check switch monitors vacuum in the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister control system and reports its state to the Engine Control Module (ECM) during the EVAP leak diagnostic. The ECM uses this switch to confirm that vacuum is applied to and held within the EVAP system when the purge and vent valves are operated. DTC P1443 sets when the switch signal does not change as expected, for example it does not indicate vacuum when vacuum should be present, or the circuit is open or shorted.
