Code Information

The Restraints Control Module (RCM) continuously monitors every airbag squib (inflator) circuit using very small test currents, and expects each squib wire to sit at the RCM's internal reference voltage with no external power applied. Code B0001:12 sets when the RCM detects battery or ignition voltage on the right hand front (RHF) airbag squib circuit, indicating the squib wiring has somewhere contacted a powered conductor on its run between the RCM, the SRS harness, the clockspring (where the affected airbag is the steering wheel mounted airbag), and the inflator itself.
