Code Information

The park switch, part of the park or neutral position (PNP) switch assembly, tells the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) and related modules when the transmission selector is in Park. The module uses this discrete input to enable cranking only in Park or Neutral, to control reverse and back up lamp logic, and to set the correct shift and idle strategy.
