LHF Airbag squib circuit open or high resistance
B0010 (13) — LHF Airbag squib circuit open or high resistance
System: Body | Type: Generic (OBD-II Standard) | Make: Generic
B0010 is a generic (obd-ii standard) body diagnostic trouble code. It belongs to the B-prefix family of codes, which covers body, interior, airbag, or comfort-electronics faults.
When B0010 is stored, the module has detected an open (broken or disconnected) electrical path in the monitored circuit; and a signal or supply voltage higher than the expected operating range.
Scanning & clearing: Body (B) codes are often stored in the body control module, airbag module, or climate module. A basic OBD-II tool usually will not read body codes — an enhanced or OEM-level scan tool is typically required.
Because B0010 is a generic OBD-II code, its base definition is shared across manufacturers. The specific diagnostic steps, reference values, and repair procedures can vary by vehicle, and the TaT Diagnostic Assistant includes verified procedures submitted by working technicians.
The Restraints Control Module (RCM) continuously measures the resistance of the left hand front (LHF) airbag squib firing loop to confirm it has a complete, low resistance path ready to fire when commanded. DTC B0010 sub code 13 sets when the RCM measures an open circuit or a resistance above the acceptable threshold on that squib circuit, meaning continuity through the squib and its wiring is lost or degraded. Because a high resistance or open loop may not pass enough current to fire the initiator, the airbag could fail to deploy in a collision. When this fault is stored the RCM disables the ...
