Code Information

The gear select position sensor, also called the transmission range sensor or shift position sensor, informs the control module which gear or range the driver has selected. DTC C1138 sets when the control module detects the gear select position signal circuit shorted to battery voltage, producing a signal that reads at or near full system voltage and falls outside the valid operating range.
