Code Information

The ABS hydraulic control unit (HCU) uses solenoid valves that the ABS module energizes to modulate brake pressure during ABS, traction control, and stability events. The rear outlet (dump) valve releases pressure from the rear brake circuit back toward the accumulator when the module detects impending wheel lock. DTC C1204 is set when the ABS module detects that the rear outlet valve control circuit is shorted to battery voltage, meaning an unexpected supply voltage is present on the control wire that the low side driver should be controlling.
