Code Information

The right rear (RR) door ajar circuit is monitored by the Body Control Module (BCM) to detect whether the right rear door is open or closed. The door ajar switch, typically integrated into the door latch assembly, closes a path to ground when the door is open and presents an open circuit when the door is closed. DTC B1338 sets when the BCM detects that the right rear door ajar input is shorted to ground, which causes the BCM to interpret the right rear door as permanently open.
