Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM), or on some vehicles a dedicated door module, monitors the door handle switch input to detect when the driver actuates the exterior door handle for keyless entry, passive entry, or interior lighting triggering. DTC B1444 is set when the BCM sees the door handle switch signal pulled to battery voltage outside of any valid switch operation, indicating a short to a powered circuit somewhere in the harness, switch, or connector.
