Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM), or on some vehicles the wiper control module, monitors the wiper park sense input to determine when the wiper output crank reaches the park position at the bottom of its travel. The park signal is normally pulled to ground when the motor is at park, with the BCM applying a pull up reference between transitions to detect each park revolution. DTC B1449 is set when the BCM sees the park sense input held continuously at ground potential outside any valid park dwell, which the module interprets as a short to ground rather than a real park indication.
