Code Information

DTC B1837 is set when the Body Control Module (BCM) detects the Door Unlock Disarm output circuit is shorted to ground on Ford vehicles equipped with the Passive Anti-Theft System (PATS). The disarm output is the BCM commanded line that releases the antitheft state and signals downstream modules or relays to unlock the doors after a valid disarm event. The BCM expects the line to swing to its commanded state during operation, but with the wire continuously pulled to ground the BCM cannot drive the output to battery voltage and detects the short.
