Code Information

The engine coolant level switch is a float operated switch in the coolant expansion tank or radiator that signals the PCM or instrument cluster when coolant level drops below a safe point. DTC P1882 sets when the monitoring module detects a short to ground on the switch circuit, meaning the signal line is pulled low continuously when it should follow the switch float state.
