P1141 — Load Calculation Cross Check Range/Performance
System: Powertrain | Type: Manufacturer-Specific | Make: Audi
P1141 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Audi vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.
When P1141 is stored, the module has detected a plausibility fault — the measured value is in the electrical range but is not consistent with expected operating behaviour.
Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.
P1141 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.
The Engine Control Module (ECM) calculates engine load from more than one source, principally the Mass Air Flow sensor and the manifold pressure sensor, and continuously cross checks these load values against the expected load for the current throttle angle and engine speed. DTC P1141 is set when the load value derived from one source does not agree with the others within the allowed range, meaning the measured airflow does not make sense for the throttle opening and RPM. This usually reflects a sensor reading drifting out of range or unmetered air entering the intake rather than a single open...
