About P1130

P1130 is a manufacturer-specific powertrain diagnostic trouble code recorded for Toyota vehicles. It belongs to the P-prefix family of codes, which covers engine, transmission, emissions, or fuel-system faults.

When P1130 is stored, the module has detected a plausibility fault — the measured value is in the electrical range but is not consistent with expected operating behaviour; and a sensor-related fault — the reported value from the named sensor is out of spec.

Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

P1130 is a manufacturer-specific code. The same code string on a different make may have a different meaning. Always confirm the code's definition against the vehicle's service information for the specific make and model under test.

Code Information

This DTC sets when the Engine Control Module (ECM) detects that the air fuel ratio sensor (AF sensor) output is outside the expected range or responding abnormally under steady engine conditions. This sensor, located upstream of the catalytic converter, provides precise feedback that the ECM uses to maintain stoichiometric combustion and trim fuel delivery. If the signal or response speed deviates from calibrated thresholds for a set duration, the ECM logs this fault. The driver may notice rough running, hesitation, increased fuel consumption, or a check engine lamp, and the ECM may revert to ...
