When P1834 is stored, the module has detected a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit.

Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

Code Information

This DTC is set when the transfer case control module detects a short to battery voltage (B+) in the differential lock-up solenoid circuit. If battery voltage is detected on the control side when it should be low or inactive, indicating an unintended connection to power, the module logs this fault. This condition can lead to uncommanded solenoid activation or electrical damage.
