Code Information

This DTC is set when the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects an abnormal signal from the automatic transmission kickdown switch circuit. The kickdown switch signals the PCM to command a downshift under heavy throttle for improved acceleration, and the PCM checks that the switch input agrees with throttle position and vehicle speed. P1835 sets when the switch signal is missing, stuck, out of the expected range, or implausible for the current driving conditions, monitored while the key is on and the engine is running.
