Code Information

DTC P0022 sets when the Engine Control Module detects that the bank 2 intake ('A') camshaft is timed further retarded than the position it is commanding through the variable valve timing system. The ECM meters engine oil to the intake cam phaser through an oil control solenoid (OCV) and compares the actual cam angle reported by the camshaft position sensor against its target; a cam that stays behind target, or that the system cannot advance far enough, sets this performance code.
