Code Information

DTC P0024 sets when the Engine Control Module detects that the bank 2 exhaust camshaft is timed further advanced than the position it is commanding through the variable valve timing system. The exhaust cam phaser is moved by engine oil metered through an oil control solenoid (OCV), and the ECM compares the actual cam angle from the exhaust camshaft position sensor against its target; a persistent over advanced reading that the system cannot correct sets this performance code.
