Code Information

DTC P0025 sets when the Engine Control Module detects that the bank 2 exhaust camshaft is timed further retarded than the position it is commanding through the variable valve timing system. Engine oil is metered to the exhaust cam phaser by an oil control solenoid (OCV), and the ECM compares the actual cam angle from the exhaust camshaft position sensor against its target; a cam that stays behind target, or that the system cannot advance far enough, sets this performance code.
