Code Information

The Engine Control Module (ECM) controls Bank 2 exhaust camshaft timing by driving a Pulse Width Modulated solenoid (Camshaft Position B actuator) that meters engine oil to the exhaust VVT phaser. DTC P0023 is set when the ECM's internal driver circuit detects an electrical fault on the solenoid control circuit, most commonly an open circuit but the same code can set for a short to power depending on manufacturer strategy.
