Code Information

The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the door lock cylinder switch input, which receives a momentary signal when a key is rotated in the driver's door (and on some vehicles the passenger door) lock cylinder. DTC B1561 is set when the BCM detects battery voltage on the door lock cylinder switch circuit at a time when only a low signal voltage or ground pull should be present, indicating the circuit has been shorted to a B+ source somewhere along its length.
