B1564 indicates that the Body Control Module (BCM) has detected an open circuit on the door ajar input line. The door ajar switches in the door jambs normally pull the BCM input to ground when the door is open, and the BCM monitors the line continuously for plausibility. When the BCM sees a permanent open condition where the input never pulls to ground at all, or detects an open while the latch is mechanically known to be in a closed state, it sets B1564.
