When P1810 is stored, the module has detected a short-circuit (voltage pulled to ground or to supply) in the monitored circuit; and a signal or supply voltage lower than the expected operating range.

Scanning & clearing: A generic OBD-II scan tool will usually read and clear powertrain (P) codes. For live data, freeze-frame capture, and bi-directional tests you may need a more capable scan tool that supports the vehicle's ECM protocol.

Code Information

This DTC sets when the powertrain control module (PCM) or 4WD control module detects an abnormally high voltage on the 4WD low indicator circuit, indicating a short to battery voltage. The circuit is monitored for expected voltage changes during 4WD low engagement. If battery voltage is present when it should not be, typically when the circuit is meant to be low or grounded, the control module logs this fault. The driver may see the 4WD low indicator stay illuminated or behave inconsistently with the actual transfer case range.
