The front heated oxygen sensor on bank 1 (Sensor 1) reports exhaust oxygen content to the Engine Control Module (ECM) as a switching voltage used to control closed loop fuel trim. The ECM periodically forces the mixture rich and lean and measures how quickly the sensor responds. DTC P1134 sets when the measured transition time between rich and lean exceeds a calibrated limit, meaning the sensor reacts too slowly to be useful for accurate fuel control.
