Code Information

The Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor measures the air entering the engine and reports it to the Engine Control Module (ECM) as the primary input for fuel and load calculation. DTC P1145 is set when the ECM detects that the MAF signal circuit is shorted to positive, so the signal voltage is pulled abnormally high and stays above the plausible range regardless of actual airflow. With the signal stuck high the ECM cannot trust the airflow reading and falls back to a substitute value from throttle position and engine speed.
