Code Information

The mass air flow sensor produces a signal proportional to the air entering the engine, and the Engine Control Module (ECM) uses it to set fuel and ignition. DTC P1146 is stored when the mass air flow signal voltage stays below the expected range for the running conditions. A low signal tells the ECM the engine is drawing less air than it really is, so the mixture can drift lean.
