Code Information

The fuel temperature sensor is a negative temperature coefficient thermistor mounted in the fuel supply or return circuit, typically in the fuel filter housing, fuel rail or injection pump, and the Engine Control Module (ECM) supplies it with a 5V reference through an internal pull up resistor. Fuel temperature is used to correct injection quantity and timing for the change in fuel density as the fuel warms, and on diesel applications it also protects the injection system from running on excessively hot fuel.
