Code Information

During deceleration the ECM normally leans out or cuts fuel delivery to lower emissions and fuel use, a strategy known as deceleration fuel cut off. DTC P1167 sets when the ECM detects that the Bank 1 fuel mixture remains too rich during deceleration, meaning more fuel is present than the strategy intends. This can result from leaking or dribbling fuel injectors, excessive fuel pressure, a fuel saturated charcoal canister purging during the overrun, or an oxygen sensor reading falsely rich.
