The Restraint Control Module (RCM) continuously measures the resistance of each airbag deployment loop to ensure the squib circuit is within the correct firing range. B1022 sets when the RCM detects that the left hand deployment loop resistance has dropped below the low threshold but is not a dead short, indicating a partial short between the two loop wires or an internally degraded squib.
