The Restraint Control Module (RCM), also referred to as the SRS or SDM on Holden vehicles, continuously monitors each airbag deployment loop by passing a small diagnostic current through the squib and measuring the voltage drop to confirm a valid resistance is present (typically 1.5 to 5 ohms for an intact driver airbag inflator).
