Code Information

The passenger door ajar switch is a plunger style contact in the door jamb that grounds an input on the Body Control Module (BCM) when the door is open. The BCM applies a known reference voltage to that input through an internal pull up resistor and watches the voltage drop to zero when the switch closes. DTC B1329 is set when the BCM measures voltage on the door ajar input above the expected range, which it interprets as a short to battery somewhere in the circuit.
